Celestial Seasonings Packaging Design
This is a limited edition packaging design for Celestial Seasonings that was inspired by the Arts and Crafts art movement.
When most people think of tea, they might think of relaxation, de-stressing, and "me time." Tea also traditionally has more of a high-class connotation to it. The Arts and Crafts movement was chosen because the movement was all about going back to a simpler time before man depended on machines and that idea fits in well with the rusticness and natural elements of tea.
This project was also accepted into Ball State's 85th Annual Juried Student Show '20 where it was on display at The Ned and Gloria Griner Art Gallery.
The design itself is inspired by William Morris's wallpaper designs. The Arts and Crafts movement often uses natural elements, including leaves, flowers, and birds. So, this packaging design incorporates tea leaves as well as chamomile flowers in the wallpaper pattern as well as a Chickadee which represents purity of the soul.
This limited edition package includes a pamphlet on the inside that describes the inspiration and motive behind the design.
